Avionics Financing

Sales Tax Exemptions

 

Volar, LLC is required to collect sales tax and to disburse these funds to the State of Tennessee unless one or more of the following factors apply:

  • The item is shipped to an address outside of Tennessee.

  • The aircraft is based outside Tennessee and departs TN within 30 days completion of maintenance/install work.

  • A current, valid Resale Certificate is used.

  • Aircraft is used for flight training.

  • Helicopter is owned by non-profit or government entity or is used for medical, emergency, search and rescue or related missions.

  • Aircraft take-off weight exceeds 12,500 pounds.

Please note that some items may require additional documentation for the exemption to be valid. The exemptions apply only to sales tax charged within Tennessee. Volar, LLC reserves the right to make the final determination of exemption eligibility. The customer is responsible to determine if sales and use tax must be remitted in their home state or country.
